We're seeking a permanent Mobile Street Cleansing Operative to join our dedicated team serving a variety of urban and rural locations across the Selby area. This is your chance to be part of a hardworking crew that values commitment, teamwork, and community impact.
Street Cleansing Operatives play a key role in ensuring that the County is a clean and welcoming place for residents, businesses, and visitors to enjoy. They are responsible for removing a wide array of materials from the road network and across the public realm. This post is deemed to be a Safety Critical post, in line with the Council's Workplace Substance Misuse Policy. In addition to that circumstance listed in the policy where a test will be required, this post will be subject to random testing and pre-employment testing. The Role
As part of our Waste and Street Scene team, you will be:
Driving up to a 3.5-ton vehicle
Litter picking and emptying of litter and dog waste bins
Contributing to delivering a high standard of service to residents, with a strong focus on customer care
You may be required to undertake other operational duties that may not be listed, as and when required.
What you will bring
The successful candidate will have:
Experience of working in an outdoor environment
Commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
Ability to follow instruction and carry out tasks in line with direction.
Effective interpersonal, communication skills
Knowledge of safe working practices and general Health and Safety principles.
Current Driving Licence
