We're now looking for an
Installation Fitter
to join our
Field Maintenance Services
team, supporting customers across the UK. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll install, service, repair, and maintain plant and welfare equipment on-site, ensuring safety, quality, and reliability at all times.
About the Role
As a
Mobile Installation Fitter
, you'll be part of a professional maintenance team responsible for:
Installation and connection of temporary site welfare offices, toilet blocks, and cabins
Servicing, repairing, and maintaining plant and welfare products at customer sites
You'll work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, supporting customers directly while also assisting depot hire operations when required. This role requires flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Safety
Work safely at all times, following H&S procedures and PPE requirements
Maintain good housekeeping standards
Attend toolbox talks and report near misses
Maintain regular contact with planners while on site
Quality
Deliver high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance services
Carry appropriate parts to achieve first-time fixes
Carry out preventative maintenance and report faults
Communicate clearly with customers regarding work required
Identify and report damage to the FMS desk
Cost & Efficiency
Accurately diagnose faults to reduce repeat visits
Plan routes effectively to avoid delays
Highlight potential issues that could lead to breakdowns
Delivery
Complete daily workloads within agreed times
Communicate delays or issues with the FMS team
Attend customer sites at agreed times
People & Customer Focus
Work collaboratively and support colleagues when required
Be flexible with hours, overtime, and locations
Represent Garic professionally and live our core values
Resolve customer issues wherever possible
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Mechanical engineering background
Low-voltage DC experience (e.g. automotive)
Experience working with diesel generators
Basic plumbing skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Basic fabrication skills
Basic hydraulics knowledge
CSCS site card
Mechanical or automotive qualification
