Job Description

Location: Cover customers mainly within M25 and Home Counties

Role

The role requires a qualified engineer (who takes pride in his /her work, has five years' experience in similar role, can work unsupervised as well as part of a team and keen to work weekends (for overtime).

We are looking for a candidate who remains calm under pressure and has a can do attitude as will be expected to handle emergency situations.

Being part of a small team the successful candidate will be able to and expected to influence and shape the future of the division.

You will be reporting directly to the Senior Maintenance Contracts Manager

Duties includes:

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM):

Carrying out routine servicing of electrical systems across multiple client sites.



Testing & Inspection (EICR):



Performing fixed wire testing to BS 7671 standards and producing Electrical Installation Condition Reports.



Fault Finding & Repairs:Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out remedial works following inspection results.



Installation & Upgrades:

Minor electrical installation works, upgrades, and modifications to existing systems.



Compliance & Safety:



Ensuring all work is compliant with current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition), health & safety legislation, and company procedures.



Portable Appliance Testing (PAT):



Carrying out PAT testing where required.



Emergency Call-outs:



Responding to reactive maintenance and breakdowns.

Record Keeping & Reporting:



Completing test certificates, risk assessments, method statements, and updating CAFM (computer-aided facilities management) systems.

Client & Site Liaison:

Communicating effectively with clients, site managers, and helpdesk teams.

Travel Between Sites:

Covering a designated region (mobile role) with a company vehicle.

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential Qualifications

Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation (e.g. C&G 2365, 2360, or 2357).

18th Edition Wiring Regulations - City & Guilds 2382-18.

Testing & Inspection qualification - City & Guilds 2391-52 (preferred) or the older 2391, 2394/2395 split qualifications.

Full UK Driving Licence (since it's a mobile role).

Desirable / Advantageous Qualifications

City & Guilds 2377 - Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).

AM2 / ECS Gold Card (evidence of being a qualified Electrician).

Health & Safety certifications - e.g. ECS Card, IPAF, PASMA, or First Aid.

Knowledge of CAFM / reporting software for inspection reports.

Experience Requirements

Proven experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and fault-finding.

Strong background in carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).

Ability to work independently across multiple sites (mobile role).

Familiarity with commercial, retail, or industrial electrical systems.
