Do you enjoy practical, hands-on work and take pride in keeping buildings safe, secure, and running smoothly? We are looking for a Mobile Maintenance Officer to join our team and help look after the Children's Residential Homes of East Sussex.
In this key role, the Mobile Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and security of a range of buildings making sure they're well maintained, meet safety standards, and are ready to support the essential services our homes need. You will be part of a team but must have the ability to work in a team. You need to have good time keeping skills and it is essential to have a driving licence.
The people we are looking for in this vital position will have:
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in specialist building maintenance work in one or more areas e.g. carpentry, plastering, glazing, plumbing, electricity etc. Good technical maintenance and repair skills, and capable of dealing with fabric and M&E tasks.
Ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload, ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date and on own initiative and problem solve.
Ability to use ICT systems including excel and word and Competent to use council systems (upload job sheets etc.) including PAMS (Property Asset Management System).
A sound understanding of the main Health & Safety Regulations, including COSHH and risk assessment, and lift within the recommended safe lifting limits and manual handling guidelines.
