Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and generators. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for technical problem-solving and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. The successful candidate would ideally be capable/qualified in tyre fitting and windscreen repair, however full training will be given if required.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic software Repair or replace defective components, ensuring minimal downtime Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies Assist in the installation of new machinery and upgrades as required Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times

Requirements

Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or related fields are required Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work shifts as required, including occasional overtime if necessary
