An established Technical M&E Services provider is seeking a skilled
Mobile Mechanical Engineer
to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and remedial works across multiple client sites.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical plant, systems, and equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to mechanical systems and plant equipment in accordance with SFG20 standards.
Install, service, and maintain a variety of pipework systems.
Diagnose and rectify faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Maintain and repair pumps (both DOL and inverter-driven).
Read and interpret schematic and technical drawings to support diagnostics.
Assist with electrical/mechanical interfaces, including actuators.
Support minor project works, preparing estimates for time, materials, and costs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and produce detailed job reports.
Comply with all Health & Safety procedures and ensure safe handling of tools and heavy equipment.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Recognised apprenticeship or qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering).
Proven experience within commercial building services and plant room environments.
Strong technical background in mechanical systems and maintenance.
Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points).
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working with PPM systems.
Ability to work flexibly within a multi-skilled team and support other trades as needed.
Strong awareness of Health & Safety regulations relevant to engineering works.
Desirable:
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Understanding of electrical principles relating to mechanical actuation and plant systems.
Familiarity with Home Office Security Vetting (SC) clearance requirements.
