The Vehicle Patrol Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated areas, properties, or events by patrolling in a designated Company vehicle. Officers are tasked with deterring criminal activity, responding to incidents, and maintaining a visible presence to ensure a peaceful environment. They must be proactive in identifying security threats, conducting inspections, and providing a quick response to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular patrols of assigned areas, ensuring complete coverage and monitoring for any signs of illegal activity, hazards, or safety concerns.
Use a security vehicle to patrol a designated route or area, including monitoring entrances, exits, car parks, platforms, access gates and other key locations.
Observe and report unusual or suspicious activity, vandalism, trespassing, or any security breaches.
Incident Response:
Respond promptly to track alarms, disturbances, or emergency calls, assessing the situation and taking appropriate action.
Provide assistance to law enforcement, MOM responders, or other personnel when required.
Conduct and write detailed reports on incidents, accidents, or security-related concerns.
Access Control:
Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed entry into restricted areas with correct accreditation.
Conduct vehicle registration checks as necessary to prevent unauthorised access or potential sinister behaviour.
Security Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure security equipment such as vehicles, Torches and Covert placed cameras are working efficiently.
Report any malfunctions or maintenance issues with security equipment to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
Maintain accurate records of car mileage, damage , Fuel Card usage and Tyre condition
Submit incident reports as and when required via an application and to Control rooms.
Public Interaction:
Serve as a visible deterrent to criminal activity by maintaining a high-profile security presence.
Maintain professional and courteous communication with the public while enforcing rules and regulations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other security personnel, law enforcement, or emergency teams to share information and coordinate responses.
Participate in regular security meetings or briefings to review incidents, improve procedures, and enhance safety measures.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in security, with a preference for vehicle patrol experience.
Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle stressful or emergency situations with composure.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic knowledge of security equipment and technology, such as surveillance cameras and alarms.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to maintain a high level of physical fitness and stamina for patrol duties.
Familiarity with safety and emergency response procedures and knowledge of W3W.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Ability to walk, stand, or patrol for long periods.
Work Environment:
Vehicle patrol in various outdoor environments (urban, rural, industrial, etc.).
Will involve working during night shifts, weekends, or holidays.
Exposure to weather elements during patrols, including rain, heat, and cold temperatures.
