Mobile Service Technician (Critical Safety Equipment)

This is an exciting opportunity to join Altitude Safety, one of the UK's leading suppliers of confined space, working at heights and site safety equipment. The company's further investing in its engineering function to support its rapid growth plans.
Role Objective:
As a valued member of our External Service team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our clients through the service and maintenance of a wide range of personal safety equipment along with fixed gas detection systems. Your work will directly support compliance, reliability, and user confidence across our client sites.
While on-site, you will also assess current safety requirements and communicate any additional needs back to the Sales team. This role can be based at either our regional Northern Group facility near Leeds or our Head Office in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Servicing and maintaining portable gas detectors, SCBA, escape breathing apparatus, fall arrest, and lifting equipment;
Setting up, commissioning, and maintaining fixed gas detection systems;
Building strong, trust-based relationships with clients, becoming their go-to expert;
Identifying and reporting additional customer safety equipment needs to the Sales team;
Ensuring customer satisfaction to drive repeat business and service expansion;
Upholding our innovative and professional service standards with all clients;
Completion of all paperwork relating to visit including updating CRM system;
Supporting management with accurate data for reporting;
Supporting workshop with any other tasks as required.
The Person:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' proven engineering experience, ideally within the safety equipment industry;
Background in utilities, engineering, or construction sectors preferred;
Knowledge or qualifications in fixed gas detection systems desirable but not essential;
Demonstrated experience in fault-finding and effective decision-making.

Hours
:
08.00 - 17.00 Monday to Thursday
08.00 - 16.30 Friday
The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours to accommodate the needs of our clients and the business.
Salary
:
Subject to previous experience and sector experience, comprising a competitive basic salary.
