Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mobile Tester & ITAD Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Market Drayton on a temporary contract (September to December 2025). This hands-on role combines mobile device testing with general warehouse operations, including order fulfilment, inventory control, and shipping. It's ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in organisation, and has a keen eye for spotting faults in smartphones and IT equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mobile Device Testing & Refurbishment

Test a range of smartphones and IT equipment (e.g. laptops, PCs) to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and document hardware or software faults. Perform basic repairs and software updates/installations using approved tools. Use certified software to securely wipe data from mobile and IT devices (as part of ITAD process).
2. ITAD Processing

Scan and log incoming assets into the stock system accurately. Strip devices for reusable parts and recyclable materials where appropriate. Segregate data-bearing devices and label clearly for secure handling. Store assets securely before and after wiping to maintain compliance. Update the project planner and communicate progress with the project manager. Support with packaging and preparing ITAD assets for collection or customer return.
3. Order Fulfilment

Pick and pack orders with accuracy and care. Label items correctly and ensure packages are secure for shipment. Maintain a clean and organised packing area.
4. Inventory & Stock Management

Track inventory levels and log movements using in-house systems. Conduct regular stock counts and report any discrepancies. Organise cables, accessories, and devices into labelled, clearly shelved locations.
5. Warehouse Organisation & Maintenance

Keep the warehouse space tidy, safe, and operationally efficient. Follow procedures for safe storage and segregation of equipment. Support team in implementing best practices and improving layout.
6. Logistics & Shipping

Prepare shipments, create labels, and package items according to courier requirements. Check incoming deliveries and report any issues.
7. Process Improvement

Suggest improvements to device handling, ITAD processing, or warehouse workflow. Work collaboratively to reduce waste and streamline operations.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Experience

Experience in a warehouse, operations, or logistics role is essential. Previous experience testing or refurbishing smartphones or IT equipment is highly desirable.
Technical Skills

Basic understanding of smartphones, laptops, and PCs. Ability to diagnose and resolve common hardware/software issues. Familiarity with testing tools (e.g. PhoneCheck, Blackbelt, FutureDial) is a bonus.
Attention to Detail

Accuracy in picking/packing and identifying device faults. Organised approach to stock and task management.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, move, and handle items safely. Comfortable standing for extended periods.
Communication & Teamwork

Clear verbal and written communication. Cooperative team player willing to support multiple parts of the operation.
