Theyxe2x80x99re responsible for planning and scheduling all the reactive work that gets things sorted quickly xe2x80x93 and youxe2x80x99ll be right there with them.Youxe2x80x99ll help coordinate that work on the ground xe2x80x93 checking in on progress, supporting repairs, and learning how to make sure everythingxe2x80x99s done safely, efficiently and to the right standards.Youxe2x80x99ll work with developers, contractors, local authorities, and other utilities xe2x80x93 keeping projects on track and learning how we keep services flowing for our customers. Youxe2x80x99ll also get hands-on experience with repair and maintenance work as part of our Water Response team xe2x80x93 a key part of your industry-recognised qualification.Some days youxe2x80x99ll be in the office, planning site visits or writing reports. Other days, youxe2x80x99ll be out and about xe2x80x93 attending meetings, inspecting live works, and learning how to guide others on whatxe2x80x99s expected. Youxe2x80x99ll also get to grips with the rules and standards behind the work - like how we manage streetworks safely, protect the environment, and meet legal requirements.Safety comes first. Youxe2x80x99ll receive full training, PPE and support to help keep yourself and others safe. Supported by our in-house Skills Academy team, each apprentice has both a day-to-day line manager, and a personal assessor who supports them through their qualification and ensures their training is of the highest standard.Over four years, youxe2x80x99ll receive dedicated training to become a fully qualified Field Service Advisor, gaining the skills and confidence to make a real impact.Youxe2x80x99ll learn how to:Understand and interpret technical specifications and standards.Carry out inspections and assessments of water and waste connections.Manage and troubleshoot field service issues on-site.Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to when working in the field.Gain a comprehensive understanding of water supply operations and customer connection journeys.Some of your time will be spent outdoors. But in Scotland we all know that there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. So, wexe2x80x99ll make sure youxe2x80x99re kitted out for whatever Mother Nature throws at us.Youxe2x80x99ll be part of an expert, experienced team who will support you to develop your skills and knowledge while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. This is your chance to earn as you learn, working with industry-leading teams to help deliver services that are essential to the daily lives of the people of Scotland.Once youxe2x80x99ve reached a certain point in your training, youxe2x80x99ll be included in our Out-of-Hours rota. That means you might occasionally be called into work outside your normal hours to investigate or fix a problem. Youxe2x80x99ll be someone people can trust and rely on.Ideally, youxe2x80x99ll have five National 4 or 5s (or similar). English, Maths and Science are particularly helpful, but they arenxe2x80x99t a dealbreaker.A driving licence would be useful - especially in some of our more remote locations - but we know that lessons and tests are expensive.
