Farid Hillend Engineering have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Modern Apprentice in Engineering following the

Electrical Pathway

. Based at our manufacturing site in Dalgety Bay. This opportunity allows you to work full time and put theory into practice within a commercial vehicle environment.

Farid Hillend Engineering are a well-established organisation operating for over 50 years designing and producing Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs) for the UK & Ireland, Europe and beyond. The college course is delivered over 3 years on a day release basis to Fife College and allows the successful candidate to gain a recognised qualification within the industry - EAL Diploma in Engineering at SCQF level 7.

When you are not at college, you will be based within our Electrical Department in Dalgety Bay, Fife, and will be involved in learning all aspects of the Electrical process from start to finish including sub assembly, wiring of commercial units (body and cab), function testing of commercial units & fault finding of commercial units.

What do you need?



Have achieved a minimum of three National 5 Level Grades including Maths, English and a Science or technology subject. Be motivated to achieve qualifications whilst gaining practical experience. Must have a determined, enthusiastic 'can do' attitude, coupled with a willingness to learn. Be able to work with others, communicating and build robust working relationships with other departments and people across the business. Ensure work is focused upon the needs of the customer. Able to adapt working patterns and proactively engage flexibility and change. Able to accept ownership and accountability for the tasks assigned. To be a positive ambassador for the business.
