What you'll learn?




As part of this role, you'll complete the

Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration (SCQF Level 6)-

an excellent way to build your skills and confidence while working. This will be delivered by Limelight Careers.


The apprenticeship covers essential areas such as developing your own performance, supporting work practices, and communicating effectively in a business environment.

You'll work with RoS to select additional modules that match your interests and the business needs, including options like designing and producing business documents, solving business problems, collaborating and providing support, planning and organising meetings, analysing and reporting data, delivering customer service, and using digital communications.



Assessment is based on real workplace tasks, so everything you do on the job helps you achieve your qualification. This is ideal for anyone keen to grow in an admin role and take on more responsibility, with opportunities to progress to higher-level qualifications as your career develops



Please note:

If you are applying on a part-time basis, you are required to do a minimum of

30 hours per week

as this role combines work and studies.

What you will be doing?





As a Registration Administrative Officer, you'll be at the heart of our operations. You'll play an important role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of Scotland's land and property records.



Every task you complete helps you work towards your qualification- no exams, just real-world experience.

On a typical day you will





Review and validate incoming registration applications to ensure compliance with statutory and RoS requirements. Process applications using internal electronic finance and case management systems. Analyse submitted documents to determine the extent and legal boundaries of land/property. Accurately link land/property extents to Ordnance Survey data and map them on our digital systems. Create and update cadastral units and property descriptions within the land registration system. Check and act on information from the Register of Inhibitions. Refer cases appropriately to colleagues, both verbally and in writing. Return incomplete or incorrect applications to customers, with clear guidance. Enter and verify accurate information on the registration systems. Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all responses follow RoS procedures and standards.

Stage one - How to apply

Confirmation of holding a Nat 4 in Maths and English or GCSE equivalent, graded 3-1 (previously D-G). Please note this will be verified as part of the pre-boarding process. Provide answers to the following questions (max words per answer) which relate to each behaviour for the role. Please use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) in your examples. Your examples do not have to be work related. You can demonstrate using situations during school/ further education, work experience or employment, community projects, hobbies/interests or personal achievements.

Stage two - Online test



We will send out an administrative dilemmas test which will be sent to you on Monday 20th October by a third-party provider, this will need completed by 23.59pm on Sunday 26th October 2025.

Stage three - Assessment



If successful at application stage, you will be invited to an in-person assessment ( in our Meadowbank House office in Edinburgh) which will include the following:
