Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Anti-Money Laundering staff to join our team. As the Money Laundering Reporting Officer of Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd, being the primary point of contact for internal reports of suspicious activity, evaluate internal disclosures and decide whether they merit an external
SAR to the National Crime Agency (NCA)
. Key areas of focus include client onboarding, KYC processes, periodic customer reviews, transaction monitoring, and the handling of suspicious transactions ensuring that all AML/KYC practices are robust, effective, and aligned with regulatory and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
To take up the SMF17 functions as required by Branch Management
Head up and manage KYC & Transaction monitoring procedures
Responsible for devising and implementing branch risk-based AML strategies
Ensure all internal SARs reports are investigated and passed on to relevant authorities if needed
Ensure team and all staff comply with relevant policies and procedures
Create and manage effective action plans in response to related audit discoveries and compliance violations
To keep other departments abreast of relevant laws and regulations
Risk and Compliance
Work with Group Compliance functions to develop robust working practices (and shared activities) to identify and mitigate AML risks
Provide guidance/training on regulatory AML/CTF risk assessments on customers to the relevant staff
Responsible for timely submission of MI reports (Monthly AML Dashboard Reporting, Monthly Legal and Compliance Report, Anti-Money Laundering Quarterly Transactions Report)
Develop, maintain and review policies, guidelines and procedures to be in compliance with relevant laws, regulatory and Group requirements
Provide training to all staff on the latest related regulations and processes
Strong knowledge of FCA, AML laws and regulation/ FATF Recommendations of Central Bank of UK
Relevant Experience
Minimum 5 years working experience related to AML
Good understanding on UK culture and commercial property lending criteria
Previous operation and management experience in Banking operation desirable (retail banking operation, business processes, reconciliations, Back Office or database control)
A good understanding of operational risk frameworks
Experience in leadership & staff management including objective setting, appraisals, reviews
Knowledge & Skills
Excellent communication skills both in English and Cantonese
Proficient in spoken and written English and Cantonese
Ability to work in fast paced environment under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Keen eye for details
Good all-round IT proficiency, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills

Initiative to self-starting approach to tasks and projects and ability to work on own initiative AML and UK banking regulations
