Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and engaged in their learning journey.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote early childhood development. Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships. Support the lead nursery staff in managing daily routines and maintaining a clean and organised environment. Observe and record children's progress, providing feedback to senior staff as necessary. Drive initiatives that encourage social interaction and personal development among children. Maintain an understanding of early childhood education principles to enhance the learning experience.

Experience

Previous experience in childcare or early years settings is preferred but not essential. A background in Early Childhood Education or related fields is advantageous. Strong communication skills in English are required to effectively interact with children and parents. Leadership qualities are beneficial for guiding children in group settings. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment. A genuine love for working with children and an understanding of their developmental needs is essential.
