Overview

To deliver high-quality early years education by blending the

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning:

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities in line with

EYFS

and

Montessori philosophy

Create a prepared Montessori environment that promotes independence, concentration, and self-directed learning Observe, assess, and track children's progress using EYFS assessment methods Support children's personal, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs, including SEN

Child Development & Care

Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all children at all times Support children with routines such as toileting, meals, and rest periods Promote positive behaviour through calm guidance and Montessori techniques

Assessment & Record Keeping

Maintain accurate learning journals, observations, and progress reports Contribute to planning next steps based on individual child assessments Prepare reports for parents and management as required

Parent & Team Communication

Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers Communicate children's progress, achievements, and any concerns Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistent practice

Safeguarding & Compliance

Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies Ensure the learning environment meets regulatory and inspection standards (e.g. Ofsted) Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions

Person Specification Essential

Level 3 or above Early Years qualification Montessori qualification (AMI / AMS / MACTE or equivalent) Strong knowledge of the

EYFS framework

Experience working with children aged 0-5 Excellent communication and teamwork skills Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Desirable

NVQ Level 3 in childcare or above 1 year Montessori Teacher experience SEN training or experience
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 27 per week
