At Legal & General Home Finance, we're looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our team and help us deliver high-quality, compliant decisions that support our customers and business partners. What you'll be doing:

Assessing and authorising applications within mandate, escalating complex cases as needed Delivering high-quality technical underwriting aligned with audit and compliance standards Communicating effectively with customers and third parties via phone, email and letter Coaching and mentoring team members to build technical capability and confidence Attending meetings with internal teams and external partners to strengthen relationships Monitoring service levels and identifying areas for improvement in team performance Analysing underwriting data to spot trends and support decision-making Supporting change initiatives with a flexible and proactive approach

Qualifications



Who we're looking for:

Previous experience in financial services or a related industry Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent) Strong understanding of AML, TCF, and Data Protection regulations Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy A collaborative team player with a flexible mindset Confidence in handling customer interactions, including complaints Analytical skills to interpret data and identify actionable insights
