Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic team. Duties

Review and analyse mortgage applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility for loan approval. Conduct quantitative analysis to assess applicants' creditworthiness and financial stability. Perform risk analysis to identify potential issues that may affect loan repayment. Collaborate with banks and other financial institutions to negotiate terms and conditions of loans. Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and communicate findings clearly to relevant parties. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the underwriting process. Provide guidance and support to loan officers regarding underwriting policies and procedures.

Skills

Strong mathematical skills for analysing financial data and performing calculations. Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate discussions with banks and clients effectively. Proficiency in risk analysis techniques to evaluate potential lending risks. Solid understanding of financial services, including mortgage products and market trends. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong organisational skills. Attention to detail is essential for ensuring accuracy in documentation and compliance checks.
