About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Car Mechanic to manage the day-to-day servicing and repairs at our garage in Ayr. This role is hands-on and independent, with support from off-site management. You will perform maintenance, diagnostic, and repair tasks to a high professional standard, ensuring vehicles leave the workshop safe and roadworthy.
Main Responsibilities
Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and technical knowledge.
Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out thorough safety checks.
Undertake repairs including brakes, suspension, exhausts, clutches, and timing belts.
Manage your workload independently and report to off-site managers/directors.
Maintain accurate job records and ensure a clean, safe, and organised workshop.
Requirements
Proven experience as a car mechanic or vehicle technician.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred.
Full UK driving licence.
Confident working independently with minimal supervision.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Professional attitude and attention to detail.
