We're looking for a committed and compassionate Nurse to lead our Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Service, the only specialist service of its kind in the locality. This is a unique opportunity to use your clinical expertise, interpersonal skills, and passion for person-centred care to make a meaningful difference to people living with MND, their families, and carers.



As part of a supportive, multi-agency team working alongside Harrogate District Foundation Trust and wider health and social care partners, you'll act as a key worker, supporting patients from diagnosis through to end of life.


About the Role





As the MND Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:


Hold a clinical caseload, delivering specialist care, advice, and emotional support from diagnosis onwards. Assess and address the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, hospices, and voluntary organisations to ensure seamless, high-quality care. Act as an advocate for people living with MND, ensuring informed care decisions are made. Contribute to service development through data collection, evaluation, and participation in governance processes. Support and educate colleagues, patients, and carers, helping shape best practice in progressive neurological care.

About You

Essential skills and experience include:


Registered Nurse (Degree in Nursing or equivalent) with current NMC registration Minimum 5 years' experience at Band 5 or above Experience in palliative care and/or neurological nursing Skilled in caseload management and working autonomously in the community Experience within a multidisciplinary team Excellent communication and organisational skills Proficiency in SystmOne or similar patient database systems Independent Prescribing qualification would be desirable
