Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients regarding their vehicle needs.

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques. Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as needed for repairs. Weld components when necessary to ensure structural integrity of repairs. Read and interpret schematics to understand vehicle systems and repair requirements. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles to prolong their lifespan. Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle repair and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics related to vehicle systems. Experience in equipment repair and maintenance practices. Capability of heavy lifting as required during the repair process. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.

Qualifications and Skills

You will be a qualified, certified Technician (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent to Level 3) with dealership experience.

MOT Tester desirable but not essential.
