We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in the use of power and hand tools. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the highest level of service quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with DVSA regulations.
Inspect vehicles for compliance with safety standards, identifying any defects or issues that may require attention.
Use diagnostic equipment and tools to assess vehicle performance and safety features.
Perform necessary repairs or adjustments as required to ensure vehicles pass their MOT tests.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and any work carried out on vehicles.
Communicate findings to customers clearly and professionally, providing recommendations for further action if needed.
Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools effectively and safely.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections and repairs.
Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive engineering or a related field are advantageous but not mandatory.
