About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced MRI Superintendent Radiographer to lead our cutting-edge MRI department at the Oxford University Hospital Foundation Trust. This is a unique opportunity to manage a state-of-the-art MRI unit within one of the UK's foremost teaching hospitals, celebrated for its excellence in patient care, ground-breaking research, and clinical innovation.
As the MRI Superintendent Radiographer, you will take charge of the department's daily operations, ensuring exceptional standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and team leadership. You will collaborate with a talented team of radiographers, clinical specialists, and support staff to deliver top-tier MRI services, while also contributing to pioneering research and advancements in MRI technology.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the MRI department's operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient workflows.
Oversee health and safety, HR, recruitment, appraisals, and magnet safety protocols.
Maintain and elevate standards of image quality and patient experience.
Develop and implement strategies to meet current and future service demands, aligning with Trust goals.
Provide expert clinical advice and leadership within the MRI team.
Work collaboratively with MRI Superintendents, modality leads, and clinical specialists across the Trust.
Support the department's involvement in innovative research and teaching initiatives.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
BSc (Hons) in Radiography or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography.
Current HPC registration.
Minimum of 5 years' MRI experience.
Proven experience as a senior team member or MRI deputy.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to technical proficiency and outstanding patient care.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Postgraduate qualifications in MRI or a related field.
IV cannulation skills.
Management qualification.
Proficiency with computer systems and strong interpersonal skills.
Specific Requirements
Punctual and professional demeanor.
Ability to support and manage distressed patients.
Highly organized with a flexible approach to work.
