The Role: MSK Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be part of a flexible, hands-on team responsible for maintaining and improving our production equipment and processes. You'll work closely with advanced automation systems sourced from Europe, gaining deep technical knowledge and playing a key role in ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Minimise production downtime through planned and preventative maintenance across a wide range of equipment, including: Siemens PLC systems Conveyor systems Boiler and steam systems Depositors Robotic tray sealing machines Jet printers and packing systems Respond to breakdowns and manage reactive maintenance Strip down and rebuild machinery post-cleaning Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and technical standards Contribute to the development of a robust PPM programme Identify and implement engineering improvements Support and mentor new team members as the team grows

What We Offer:

Competitive salary: 44,000 - 48,000 (higher salary negotiable for exceptional experience) Paid overtime (subject to availability) 22 days annual leave + bank holidays (time in lieu for bank holidays worked) Permanent contract with full-time hours Initially: 8-hour shifts, 5 days/week Future: Shift pattern evolving toward 6-day operation (discussed at interview) Career development opportunities in a growing business

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in planned and preventative maintenance, ideally in food manufacturing Strong knowledge of PLC systems and automated robotics Excellent electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills Understanding of PPM systems in an FMCG environment Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach to teamwork
