In this role, you'll help ensure the safety of the public by coordinating multi-agency responses to support high-risk victims and survivors of domestic abuse.


As a MARAC Coordinator, you will be responsible for organising and supporting all Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC), ensuring they run smoothly and effectively. You will play a key role in promoting safety, accountability, and clear communication between all partner agencies. Your duties will include reviewing cases in advance of meetings, coordinating agendas, accurately recording minutes and actions, and ensuring timely follow-up to support victim safeguarding and risk management.


You will need to demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to manage tasks with minimal supervision. Good organisational and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise a varied workload effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as the role involves regular contact with internal colleagues and external partner agencies. You'll also need to show sensitivity, discretion, and sound judgement in handling confidential and sometimes complex information.

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:



Liaise and co-ordinate with all key local agencies to establish the terms of reference of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference if not yet established including the establishment of an agreed referral threshold. Organise and ensure consistency in referral of cases from the full range of potential referring agencies based on the use wherever possible of a common risk assessment tool for victims. Gather relevant information about Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference cases ahead of the meeting and circulate to all relevant attendees, in particular to the Independent Domestic Violence Advocate or Independent Sexual Violence Advocate where appropriate. Prepare the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference agenda to ensure that cases are reviewed in the most time effective manner and that any specialist attendees are present.

Skills and experience required:



Confident using a range of computer systems and software, with strong general IT skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to produce clear reports and presentations Comfortable dealing with people both in person and over the phone Strong record keeping skills with attention to accuracy and detail Experience in minute taking Skilled in preparing and organising meetings or conferences

The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises.
