Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively and manage heavy lifting as part of the delivery process.

Responsibilities

Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and lorries, to transport goods to designated locations. Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling of heavy lifting tasks. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Assist in the warehouse as needed during non-delivery hours, including organising stock and preparing orders for dispatch.

Experience

Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred but not essential. A valid commercial driving licence is required for operating larger vehicles. Familiarity with local roads and routes is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members efficiently. Experience in a warehouse environment is a plus, as it will enhance understanding of logistics operations.
