Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations. Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, with attention to safety procedures. Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly. Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior at all times. Assist in warehouse activities when not on delivery routes, including stock movement and inventory checks.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehouse environments. Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record. Experience with commercial driving vehicles such as vans or lorries. Strong driving skills with knowledge of traffic laws and safety standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during loading and unloading processes. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members. Organised with the ability to plan routes efficiently under time constraints. Physical fitness to handle long periods of driving and manual handling tasks.
