Duties

Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver goods to specified destinations. Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and punctuality. Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit. Verify delivery details and obtain necessary signatures or documentation upon receipt. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly. Communicate professionally with clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays. Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles. Valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle operated, such as a driver licence or equivalent. Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling goods. Excellent communication skills to interact courteously with clients and team members. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently. Good knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
