Delivery Driver


We have an excellent opportunity for Category C (Class 2) Delivery Driver to join our team based in Clydebank.

The Role

As a Multi Drop Delivery Driver you will report to the Branch Manager. You will be responsible for the transport and movement of materials, via a pick up, to fulfill customer/branch orders to schedule and when not driving the picking and cutting of metal bars and offcuts, within health and safety guidelines.

Your duties will include:

The safe and efficient receipt, movement and storage of goods via company vehicle and manifest - some handballing required and maintenance of POD paperwork To maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy condition and adhere to all DVSA regulations To plan the most effective and efficient routes to suit delivery schedule and to minimise diesel usage where possible To work efficiently and safely in the operation of machinery to lift and load material onto wagon to driver's manifest provided To assist, when not driving, with the storage, picking and cutting of metal stock in the warehouse through good housekeeping and quality control procedures. To collect customer payments when required and to pass on to admin or management upon return To work as part of a team with warehouse operatives to load and unload materials in timely fashion To show courtesy and be helpful to customers/suppliers when collecting, delivering or returning materials to warehouse Maintain a safe workplace/vehicle without risk to health by proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and to implement measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the management

The Person

As a Multi Drop Delivery Driver, you will need to have:

a Category C driver card and license with no more than 6 points up to date DCPC training Ability to work to deadlines on own and show initiative to solve problems when delivering materials Great Communication skills to liaise with all types of customers Driving skills coupled with the relevant skills and experience to enable safe movement and carriage of goods. A forklift license and training would be beneficial An ability to understand and learn different machinery to enable cutting, lifting and storage of materials when not driving in support of warehouse team Excellent attention to detail enabling management of load and checking of manifest on a daily basis Basic health and safety knowledge

Hours & Rewards

As a Multi Drop Delivery Driver you will work Mon -Thu 8.00-17.00, Fri 8.00-16.30 ,1hr lunch break, 30 mins Friday ( or breaks as per driving legislation). 1 overnight run per week in Scotland.

Circa 37,000 per annum depending on hours worked 4%/4% Matched Contributory pension scheme 10 mobile phone top up 26.20 overnight money 20 days Holiday plus 8 Statutory Holidays (3/5 x Christmas shut down)*
