Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Professional Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in flatbed and van driving. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring excellent communication with clients and warehouse staff. A solid understanding of mechanical operations is also advantageous, as it will aid in the maintenance of the vehicles used.

Responsibilities

Safely operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries and vans, to deliver goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition and report any mechanical issues. Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and clients regarding delivery schedules and requirements. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure safety on the road. Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with flatbed or van driving experience. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a warehouse environment. Strong organisational skills to manage delivery schedules and documentation effectively. A valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle type being operated is essential.
