Duties

Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies. Plan routes efficiently to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays. Load and unload goods securely, ensuring the integrity of cargo during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays. Adhere to all health and safety protocols while handling goods and operating vehicles.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience. Valid driving licence suitable for operating flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles. Knowledge of road regulations and safety standards relevant to commercial driving in the UK. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently. Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines. Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo safely. Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively.
