Job Description

We are looking for a qualified category "C" HGV driver to join our transport department. Working out of our busy Welshpool depot the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe carriage and delivery of goods to our trade customers. Deliveries consist of cases of wines, beers and minerals as well as kegs and casks. When delivering we expect the goods to be put where the customer requires, including down cellars and then the safe removal of any empty kegs. Full training on cellar deliveries, loading of lorries and manoeuvring of full kegs is given. This role is a very busy one with the larger rounds consisting of 20 plus drops and sometimes over 100 kegs to be delivered. We will also keep you up to date with all HGV related qualifications. Some days you may be driving vans. The majority of the time you will have a drivers mate helping with the deliveries when on the larger HGV rounds. The hours of work are 8-5 Monday to Friday. We very rarely deliver on weekends. Salary is 30,459 per year with overtime paid for any hours worked over the 41.25 weekly hours and is paid at time and a half. This is a physically demanding yet rewarding and varied role.
