As part of our growing Team, we are looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer (Fabric Bias) to provide a building fabric maintenance and repairs service. The role sits within our operations support service on a large campus to a very high end client.
You will be responsible for delivering a building fabric service such as minor plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, and patch repairs.
Ideally you will have worked in the building services sector, or similar, with basic electrical and/or plumbing skills as you will be carrying out fabric repairs. You should be physically fit as the role does involve some manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces.
You will keep the clients and partners updated with any developments, recording all activities, remedial works, inspection logs etc and ensure a high level of customer service and will need good verbal and written communication and comfortable working with IT to record your tasks and updates,
The ideal candidate would have a background in facilities management, a trade scheme or served experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Tasks: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building fabric, including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, and windows, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Inspections: Assist in conducting regular inspections of the building fabric to identify defects or required repairs, reporting findings to the Fabric Supervisor.
Repairs: Carry out repairs and minor refurbishment work, such as patching walls, replacing damaged flooring, and fixing doors and windows.
Installation: Assist with the installation of new fabric components, including wall panels, flooring, and ceiling tiles, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and materials used, reporting regularly to the Fabric Supervisor.
Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies while performing all tasks, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Fabric Supervisor and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and high levels of customer service.
* Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring stock levels of materials and supplies, notifying the Fabric Supervisor of any shortages or needs for replenishment.
