Scantec FMCG recruitment are working in partnership with a market-leading FMCG Food Manufacturer with a site near Trafford Park, Manchester. We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Elec Bias) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Mech or Elec Bias considered! Food experience is desirable but not essential. Ideally you will have experience of working in a fast paced FMCG environment. Full machine and product training given, along with an in-depth on-boarding programme.

Shifts:
4on, 4off rotation
4x days, 4x nights

Overtime is in plentiful supply and paid at x1.5 / double time

Role Purpose:
To provide Engineering resource in carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and reduce quality issues. To strive towards Continuous improvement of machinery equipment and ways of working in line with the business strategy.

Multi Skilled Engineer - core responsibilities:

• Fault diagnosis at breakdown repairs of plant and site services equipment
• Adherence to statutory checks and GMP
• Involvement in CI and Capital Projects
• Upkeep of stores and engineering documentation
• Assist supporting and training of relevant employees in all aspects of shared maintenance
• To take training and up-skill programmes as directed by business needs
• Deliver effective communication at team reviews, engineering meetings and shift handovers

Required skills & experience:
Ideally you will have a recognised engineering apprenticeship (Electrical, Mechanical or Multi skilled) with the appropriate engineering qualifications such as ONC, BTEC or equivalent.

Food industry experience is desirable but not essential.
