Following an internal promotion an opportunity has arisen in the Engineering Team for an Electrical biased Multi Skilled Engineer.

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will work within a team of engineers to provide maintenance cover for the cheese production facility, in addition to the maintenance role, this role may require the candidate to work alongside others to complete in house project works on a minor project basis or provide support and assistance, as required, to the Site project team.

The site engineering team is currently going through a re-structuring and will be operating a rotating shift pattern with the aim to maximise a healthy work life balance.

For all engineers there will be a requirement to work weekends and cover Bank Holidays.

Overtime may be worked from time to time during the working week and weekends, however the requirement is minimal.

Tasks (but not exhaustive):



Execute engineering work orders as assigned by the engineering team leader and/or engineering coordinator in a timely and efficient manner. Provide planned and preventative maintenance support to our production team striving to improve asset performance by engaging in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities. Identify root causes of costly issues and initiate an appropriate action plan to resolve, report and document actions taken. Escalate all issues to the Engineering Team Leader and/or the Engineering Manager. Respond to all breakdown activity in a timely manner ensuring communication with operational team leaders and supervisors. Ensure all engineering work you are tasked with in the production streams meets the requirements of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental, Food Quality policies and procedures. Complete and receive relevant hand-over documentation and communication to next shift or from the previous shift to ensure continuity. Ensure all work completed is documented accurately in a daily shift report. Demonstrate in actions and attitude that Engineering is a support function to Production.

Engineering skills include:



Qualified to a minimum of NVQ3 in an engineering discipline. Time served apprenticeship training. General engineering on site with a best in field approach, including measurement and analysis of equipment using predictive maintenance techniques. Fault finding to diagnose plant issues affecting performance. Boiler operation and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Operation of water treatment systems and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Operation of compressed air systems and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Operation and stocking of engineering stores. Equipment servicing - valves pumps etc. as per the prescribed maintenance plans. To take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed. Previous experience in the dairy or food related industries would be beneficial but not essential. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Electrical skills include;



Qualified to the 18th Edition of the IEE regulations. Time served electrical biased apprenticeship training. Proven track record of fault finding and fault diagnosis. Competency in panel wiring and diagnosis. Competency and understanding of safety systems. Understanding of the fundamentals automation and process control systems. Show an aptitude for mechanical engineering

Remuneration & Benefits;



Annual Salary is 47,500.00 Plus a shift allowance of 8% giving a further c3,800 (c51,300 pa) Holiday entitlement - 30 days per annum (including Public & Bank Holidays in England & Wales).
