We are excited to be recruiting a new Maintenance Engineer to join our fast-paced business and dedicated team!

Due to continuing growth, we are seeking an experienced, proactive and enthusiastic individual to take up this electrically-biased engineering role based in Pontefract.

Largely consisting of all aspects of Planned Preventative Maintenance, the successful candidate will also be responsible for completing Reactive assignments and support & contribute to relevant Projects.

Key Responsibilities:



Diagnose and determine the cause of electrical & mechanical faults in plant and equipment. Conduct planned, unplanned and preventative electrical & mechanical maintenance procedures on plant and equipment. Replace, repair and/or remove electrical & mechanical components in plant and equipment and ensure its return to operational condition. Undertake decommissioning activities when plant is being removed form service. Undertake the safe and efficient operation of production plant and systems e.g: Commissioning*
Plant preparation*
Isolation and testing -Decommissioning*
Start-up & shut-down procedures*
Monitoring and controlling plant*
Deal with critical operational problems*
Maintain responsibility for the quality of own -and possibly others- work. Ensure work is completed safely and meets stakeholder quality, time and budget requirements whilst maintaining the efficient running of plant and equipment. Challenge unsafe and/or incompliant behaviour appropriately. Remain aware of Developments in Legislation, Standards and Plant Specification and Operation.

Skills, knowledge and experience:



HNC / BTEC level 4 in Electrical Engineering. Experience in a similar environment. Knowledge of -and compliance with- industry Health, Safety and Environmental working practices and regulations. Proven experience in all aspects of the Key Responsibilities detailed above. Proven experience in all aspects of the Key Responsibilities detailed above. Fault finding, Critical reasoning and Problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Proactive, Self driven and committed to the Team Effort.
This is a Monday to Friday role with very occasional weekend work.

Pay: From 36,000.00 per year
