General

We are looking for a proactive and experienced

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

to support our busy seafood processing facility in Roche. In this hands-on role, you'll be essential to ensuring machinery and equipment are maintained to the highest standard, helping minimise production downtime and support our high-quality output.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Perform reactive and planned maintenance on production equipment including conveyors, packaging machines, refrigeration systems, and more. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and effectively. Carry out scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and keep accurate documentation. Support production teams to ensure minimal disruption and uphold food hygiene and quality standards. Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations at all times. Take part in root cause analysis and implement improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance. Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery or modifications. Collaborate closely with engineering colleagues and support less experienced team members.

Essential:

Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering). Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG, or related environment. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repair skills. Familiarity with health & safety, HACCP, and GMP standards. Organised and proactive - able to manage multiple tasks, projects, and timelines effectively without close supervision. Strong communicator - confident, clear communicator (written and verbal).

Desirable:

PLC fault-finding and programming experience. 17th or 18th Edition electrical certification (for electrically-biased roles).
