Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Multi skilled Operator to join the team at our Waste Processing Facility in Rotherham. This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday on a rotating 5.30am - 2.30pm / 2pm - 11pm shift pattern.

• 
  You will be responsible for the operation of the anaerobic digestion process and mobile plant, as well as the housekeeping and maintenance activities.
• Ensuring health and safety legislation and company Policies and procedures are followed

• Material handling operations using mobile plant machinery
• Undertake light maintenance & cleaning of equipment
• Work in accordance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies, including the reporting of close calls & incidents
• Involvement in best practice and continuous improvement, undertaking regular site audits/checks
• Comply with changes to company standards and legislation
• Assist site supervisor in reviewing maintenance activities, cost control, health & safety, behavioural safety observations, KPI’s and implementing necessary remedial actions
• Ensure the highest level of housekeeping is maintained
• To work in weighbridge and other areas of site where required

Experience, Education & Qualifications

Essential

• 
  Willingness to learn and undertake studies to obtain level 2 City and Guilds Qualification in Sustainable Waste Management
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
• Good people skills; be able to communicate at all levels throughout the company and externally
• Operation of mobile plant in particular wheeled loading shovel
• Good organisational skills
• Full UK car driving licence

Preferable

• 
  Recent experience of working in a waste management environment
• Fire Marshal training
• First aider
• CITB card (wheeled loading shovel, wheeled 360, telehandler)
• Knowledge of AD operations
• Basic plant maintenance
• Basic mechanical skills
• Logistics operation experience
• Basic knowledge of environmental compliance issues associated with waste disposal
• Computer literate
