Job Summary
The Estates Team is an integral part of the hospital and consists of 6 staff and cover PPM's and reactive repairs for the site. You will need to work closely with the Engineering Manager to plan and carry out engineering/building maintenance programmes and to help achieve compliance with legislative and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
You will be required to undertake work as identified on allocated work orders, such as carrying out inspections, tests, repairs and installations on hospital property, plant and infrastructure. You will also need to update the Fixx system in an informative and timely manner.
Heavily involved in the day-to-reactive maintenance service, you will need to ensure that we are providing an efficient and patient focused service to the hospital.
You will need to possess strong team working traits, be flexible, calm under pressure and have excellent communication skills to effectively carry out demanding maintenance duties and investigative processes.
As part of the role, you will be required to be on the on call rota and be flexible in your working days to fit patient activity.
The postholder will be expected to carry out both routine and complex maintenance requests in an efficient and effective manor to support successful delivery of a patient focus estate maintenance service for the hospital and support the engineering manager in the management and supervision of inhouse and contract labour to ensure effective maintenance in operation of all buildings, plant and the associated services.
The postholder must be willing to attend training courses to enhance the role and to ensure progression within the department.

Essential
NVQ in electrical or plumbing
Have experience of managing routine maintenance, statutory and mandatory compliance requirements and property/estate management including facilities and grounds maintenance
Technical expertise in engineering
Desirable
IOSH
Level 2 certificates in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
M&E repair experience
Have experience in a health or care environment
