The purpose of the advocacy role is to make sure that the wishes, views and rights of an individual are taken into account by professionals. We're looking for a Multi Specialist Advocate to join our dedicated Liverpool team. This is a vital role for someone who is professional, resilient, and deeply committed to supporting people's rights and choices. You'll work independently with individuals facing a range of complex needs, providing both statutory and non-statutory advocacy across various settings in the Liverpool area.

Purpose of the Role




To deliver one-to-one advocacy to individuals in Liverpool under the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and Care Act, ensuring their views and rights are fully represented in line with legal requirements and best practice.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA), and Care Act Advocacy. Provide strength-based short-term advocacy and complaint advocacy in line with clients' instructions. Offer non-instructed advocacy for individuals who lack capacity to instruct. Conduct initial assessments and risk assessments for new referrals. Deliver advocacy on mental health inpatient wards and in community settings. Maintain accurate case records and documentation using our case management system. Stay updated on advocacy best practices, emerging case law, and changes in legislation. Signpost clients to other relevant services where appropriate. Support client exit plans and collect service monitoring data. Assist with the induction, supervision, and support of staff, students, and volunteers. Foster strong working relationships with professionals and organisations, including other advocacy services. Represent and promote the advocacy service across different forums and events. Work towards and achieve the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice (City & Guilds) qualification. Meet individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Support general service administration and contingency work as needed.
