Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sports Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate young people of ages 8 to 17 of various skill levels. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for developing engaging, fun programmes, enhancing health and fitness, raising aspirations and fostering a positive team environment.

Duties

Design and implement engaging sessions tailored to the needs of the young people attending youth projects. Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and techniques relevant to sports and activities. Assess performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement and engagement. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among participants. Organise and oversee the physical activities during youth project sessions. Maintain a safe environment by ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Communicate effectively with young people, youth workers, parents, and other stakeholders regarding progress and development.

Requirements

Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching is essential. Flexibility to respond to the group needs and dynamics in support of the aims of the youth project Strong knowledge of the sport(s) or activities being coached, including rules, strategies, and techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required. First Aid certification is an advantage but not mandatory. A genuine passion for sports engagement, youth welfare and development is essential.
