About the Role

EdStart Warrington & St Helens are looking for an enthusiastic, professional, and driven

Primary School Sports Coach

to join our growing team. This role involves delivering high-quality PE and sport sessions to children and young people across a range of primary school settings.

The successful candidate will teach in line with the

PE National Curriculum

, Ofsted criteria, and EdStart programmes of study. In addition to curriculum PE, EdStart delivers a wide range of

extra-curricular activities

, including before-school clubs, lunchtime provision, after-school clubs, and holiday programmes. Applicants should be flexible and aware that work may be required during these periods.

While this position is initially part-time, there is clear opportunity for progression to a

full-time role

based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality sports and physical education sessions Teach PE lessons in line with the PE National Curriculum and Ofsted standards Inspire children to lead active, healthy lifestyles Engage and motivate pupils across all primary school age groups Build and maintain positive relationships with schools and staff Represent EdStart in a professional and positive manner at all times

Essential Requirements

Level 2 Coaching Qualification

(essential)

Driving licence and own transport

(essential - travel between schools required)

Enhanced DBS check

(or willingness to obtain one)

Paediatric First Aid qualification

(or willingness to obtain one) Passion for sport, physical activity, and working with children Self-motivated, reliable, and professional

Desirable Criteria

Sports-related degree (or currently working towards one) Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
