Job Description

CLC is one of the UK's leading property maintenance and refurbishment groups with a turnover of c.250m, around 1,000 employees and a national presence serving sectors such as social housing, defence, hotel and leisure, healthcare, education, and more.


CLC has grown significantly over the last few years and has ambitious growth plans to double in size in the next 4 years.


As a Multi-Trade Operative, your responsibilities will include:


Carpentry and Joinery - Fitting doors and kitchens Plumbing - Fitting bathroom suites, repairing toilets Plastering - Whole rooms, ceiling Decorating - Painting walls, ceilings and woodwork

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:


You'll be a talented multi-skilled trades person Knowledge of onsite working practices and site safety NVQ or City and Guilds qualified Reliable Good people skills are a must Motivation to do a great job ensuring the customer is always happy with the work Ability to work in a team or on your own Full UK Driving License Your own toolkit/equipment to carry out the works excellent practical skills good problem-solving skills the ability to complete work to deadlines an understanding of building regulations

Work will be carried out on both private & commercial premises; often these will be occupied.


You may work as part of a team &/or alone.


Health and safety is an important part of this work and you will need to follow building regulations and Company Procedures at all times.


Working hours



Contracted Hours - 39 hours per week. However, a degree of flexibility is required in order to carry out your duties and you may not unreasonably refuse to work overtime in order to meet deadlines.


You would travel between jobs, and some contracts will involve overnight stays away from home.


Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)




You will need to have a CSCS card before you can work on site. The card is proof of your skills and ability to carry out the job safely. To get your card, you must:


pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test Prove your occupational competence (by holding appropriate qualifications). * If you are working without qualifications, you may be able to use the On-site Assessment Workshop or Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA) schemes to gain a qualification and qualify for a CSCS card.
