Multi-Use Trader with Plumbing Experience - Responsibilities & Requirements:

The multi-use trader will be expected to:

General Trade Duties:

Carry out a range of building maintenance and repairs across multiple trades including:

Carpentry

Plastering

Tiling

Painting & Decorating

Basic electrical work (e.g. fitting sockets, switches - if qualified)

Groundworks (fencing, paving, drainage where applicable)

Plumbing Duties (Basic Level):

Identify and fix minor leaks, blockages, or faulty fittings Replace taps, washers, valves, traps, and pipework Install kitchen and bathroom fittings (e.g. sinks, toilets, showers) Assist in bathroom/kitchen refurbishments involving plumbing aspects Isolate water supplies and safely carry out basic repairs

Other General Responsibilities:

Read and interpret construction drawings or work orders Carry out quality checks and ensure work meets required standards Adhere to health and safety regulations on-site Maintain a clean and safe working environment Communicate effectively with clients, tenants, and team members Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently

Requirements: Essential:

Proven experience in multiple trades within construction or property maintenance Basic plumbing skills with knowledge of domestic water systems Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities Own tools Good understanding of health & safety procedures Ability to manage time, work independently, and meet deadlines Good communication and customer service skills Full UK driving licence
Preferred (but not always required):

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a core trade (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, multi-trade) CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights, or Manual Handling certifications DBS check (especially if working in schools, healthcare, or social housing) First Aid certificate
