Davies Contractors Limited is a firmly established, family run business based in Newport, South Wales. We undertake all aspects of building and maintenance work from private builds and removations to commercial work. We are currently working in partnership with a number of Local Authorities to complete quality welsh housing and school refurbishments.

We are now looking for talented Multi-Skilled operatives to join our team working in and around the Newport and Cardiff areas.

Overall Purpose

To provide reactive day to day repair in residents' properties and property voids, aiming to achieve a first time fix where possible using the follow expertise: painting and decorating, patching, dry lining, basic carpentry, tiling, silicone works and general snagging.

Duties include:

1. Carrying out remedial repairs in properties as insturcted by Management.

2. Providing high standards of repairs and maintenance across multi trades.

3. Inspecting and diagnosing faults and repairs.

4. Carrying out minor and major repairs in residential properties and property voids.

5. Good communication and customer service skills.

6. Must be able to work on their own initiative and work in small teams, but also able to complete tasks working alone.

7. Carry out routine safety checks of plant and equipment.

8. Maintain and replenish vehicle stock

9. Complete all necessary associated work documentation.

10. Liaise with Client/customers when arranging and carrying our work, having full regard to their needs.

11. Work from written and verbal instructions, including drawings, diagrams, sketches, calculations using measuring equipment where appropriate.

12. Assess, plan and request parts and materials required to carry out the work.

13. Report to Supervisors any faulty plant, appliances, installations or equipment which do not comply with the current Safety regulations.

14. Operate all machinery and equipment in a safe and correct manner using all safety devices and practices.

15. Ensure properties are left in a clean and safe manner on completion of work.

16. Look after tools, materials and equipment guarding against loss or theft and making them available for use when required.

17. Report finds of asbestos through the Company's Asbestos Procedure.

18. Carry out appropriate alternative work as and when required.

19. Carry out work at heights using ladders, scaffolding and carry out work in confined spaces and in a variety of work conditions that may prevail at that time.

Your own van/transport is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Freelance

Pay: 17.00-19.00 per hour

Experience:

multi trade: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

CSCS (preferred) Driving Licence (required)
