Hours: FT 40hour week, 1:5 weekends, equal share of bank holiday rota

Multidisciplinary Nurse Responsibilities




This is the perfect position for a Nurse that is passionate for all disciplines within a hospital setting including surgery, hospital wards, medicine and nurse clinics. This includes rotating between all disciplines to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to every patient in our care.


The candidate will require experience in anaesthesia/theatre practice, in-patient care, assisting with medicine procedures and running nurse clinics. You will help to facilitate the efficient and effective flow of patients through all disciplines, whilst ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to patients.

Expected responsibilities include:



Working alongside lead surgical nurse, clinicians, nurses, and PCAs to provide the highest quality of care for all surgical/dental patients Set up for operations for that day Monitor and maintain anaesthesia Prep patients for surgery/dentistry Maintenance of surgical kits - up to date kit lists, kit storage maintained, training for new team members- specifically relating to dentistry Ensure precise, efficient and accurate patient handovers are carried out Take dental xrays, complete dental charting and perform a scale and polish Accurate record keeping, especially with regard to kennel sheets, anaesthetic sheets and hospitalisation records Working with lead wards nurse to support processing of all procedures as per the medical procedures list. Work with other disciplines to ensure active handovers given when transferring patients between disciplines. Accurate record keeping, especially with regard to kennel sheets, anaesthetic sheets and hospitalisation records. Maintenance of equipment including USS, all scopes, CT, X-ray, Lab machines. Ensure the risks of nosocomial infections and cross contamination are minimised by practicing good hygiene - maintenance and completion of infection control check lists in medicine departments. Participate in team briefings and daily huddles to ensure effective and efficient communication
Support and build on nurse clinic provision Support checking repeat prescriptions Carry out nurse callbacks/advice calls Support with triage system Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of nurse consult room Effective and efficient communication with client care team to ensure smooth processing of patients through consults Ensure all appointments suitable for RVN's are carried out by RVN's Support with admits and discharges for patients as appropriate Support with forming set guidelines for carrying out all our nurse clinics Ensure accurate record keeping when running clinics and accurate pricing is carried out

Our multidisciplinary team consists of dedicated nurses, nurses, student veterinary nurses and patient care assistants who provide gold standard care to our surgical patients and work across all departments within the hospital.


The successful candidate must have a love of working within an extremely varied and fast paced environment with a team of like-minded people. We are looking for someone who will not only go above and beyond for our patients, but for their colleagues too. Experience working in a hospital is beneficial but not essential as comprehensive training from our highly experienced team will be provided. Candidates must be qualified RVNs and will be proactive, enthusiastic, approachable, a great team player, able to use their own initiative and self-motivated. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task with a flexible approach to working are essential.
