We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer with a Mechanical Engineer bias to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of our modern manufacturing plant and equipment. Your primary focus will be on mechanical systems, but you will also be expected to contribute to electrical and general building maintenance as required. Key duties include conducting planned preventative maintenance, responding promptly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all plant machinery. You will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, optimizing performance, and supporting production targets through effective root cause analysis and problem-solving.
To succeed in this position, you should possess a recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering (such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) and demonstrate experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems is essential, along with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Experience with electrical systems, PLC fault finding, and basic fabrication skills would be highly advantageous. You must be a team player with strong communication skills, a flexible approach to working hours (including participation in a call-out rota), and a commitment to upholding health and safety standards at all times.
