Job Summary


Seeking a qualified and experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to support our food manufacturing operations by maintaining and repairing production equipment and infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure safety, quality and efficiency of our production lines while complying with industry specific standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Standards of Performance



Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment including conveyors, packaging machinery, and processing equipment. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and ensure continuity of production. Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and assist in the integration of control systems and automation upgrades. Support the implementation of projects in line with the business objectives. Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to support continuous improvement projects. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, modifications and repairs in line with company and regulatory standards. Ensure all work adheres to H&S, IEE Wiring Regulations, and food safety protocols including BRC and HACCP requirements. Support root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions. Supervise 3rd party contractors working on site. Contribute towards improved standards by participating in audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

Person Specification



NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Proven experience as a maintenance engineer within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial automation, and PLCs Self-motivated in managing workloads and priorities. Good communication skills to internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with H&S regulations Experience with preventative maintenance systems Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, TPM). Awareness of food hygiene and safety standards (e.g., BRC, HACCP).
