We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

within our Maintenance Team based at our new i54 manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton.

As part of a small team,

the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

is responsible for carrying out proactive and reactive work within a fast-moving manufacturing environment; one of which is fully automated, adhering to health, safety and environmental legislation at all times. Responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance intervention, you will play a key role in optimising site performance through maximising asset availability and reducing down-time.

What you are already great at

:

Working as part of the Maintenance and wider Production team to carry out repairs to plant equipment and machinery. Attending breakdowns onsite across both facilities, ensuring a rapid response and that machine downtime is minimised. Conducting regular inspections and carrying out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment across both sites; including automated machinery (pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and robots), LEV's, testing rigs, assembly lines and other equipment, in line with manufacturer's recommendations. Troubleshooting of mechanical systems, resolving breakdowns via fault-finding analysis, and learning from these in order to support continuous improvement activity. Actively participating in the implementation and continuation of Total Performance Management (TPM), providing support and delivering actions to improve safety, quality and reliability. Participating in continuous improvement activities, contributing ideas and initiatives to enhance plant efficiency. Collaborating with the rest of the team, sharing knowledge and skills to cultivate a continuous learning culture. Managing contractors onsite, and working with more junior members of the team as required. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of workplace safety throughout the organisation by following the relevant procedures and reporting any risks via the internal reporting process.

For this role we would need you to demonstrate

:

A relevant qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering subject (NVQ, HNC), or to have completed an apprenticeship within maintenance engineering. Electrical or Mechanical engineering experience (ideally multi-skilled), and preferably from within a kiln or furnace environment. Knowledge or experience of working with controls, analysing faults and troubleshooting solutions. Experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance. Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software. A high standard of workmanship. Strong organisation and communication skills, and the ability to act decisively to solve engineering and operational problems. The ability to work within a multi-disciplined team of varying levels of technical experience.
Level 3 Qualification in Inspection and Testing. Gas Safe Registration Qualification in Portable Appliance Testing. Experience of working on electrical installations in an industrial setting. PLC experience is advantageous.
