Salary:

About Us:

REP-TEC is a leading provider of fully automatic balers for the recycling industry. In addition to manufacturing new machines, we specialize in refurbishing and upgrading recycling balers, ensuring they meet modern performance and safety standards. We also manage turnkey installations and provide comprehensive aftersales support. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a talented

Multi-Skilled Service Engineer

to join our team and contribute to our commitment to quality and innovation.

Role Overview:

As a Multi-Skilled Service Engineer, you will work on a range of equipment, including REP-TEC balers and other recycling machines. The role encompasses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic work, requiring a well-rounded skill set. Your responsibilities will be a mix of factory-based tasks and field-based service work. This includes assembly, refurbishment, servicing, and breakdown response. While a strong support network is in place, the successful candidate will be expected to work independently and demonstrate self-sufficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.

In addition to working on REP-TEC balers, you will also be involved in the refurbishment of non-REP-TEC machines, which operate on the same principles of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform mechanical repairs and servicing of REP-TEC and other recycling machines, both in-house and on-site. Work with hydraulic systems, ensuring efficient troubleshooting and repairs. Have some exposure to electrical systems, diagnosing and assisting with electrical faults when required. Assist in the assembly of new machines in our factory. Be actively involved in refurbishment projects, stripping down large recycling balers and rebuilding them to a high standard for resale. Travel to customer sites for routine servicing, breakdown response, and operator training. Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Read and understand both hydraulic and electrical schematics to diagnose and repair faults effectively. Complete service reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

What We're Looking For:

Experience:

Proven experience in mechanical repairs, hydraulics, and ideally some exposure to electrical systems.

Skills:

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

Work Ethic:

A hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility:

Willingness to travel as required and work in different environments.

Qualifications:

Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) would be beneficial but not essential.

Ability to Read Schematics:

Must be able to read and understand both hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Full UK Driving Licence

required.

What We Offer:

Competitive hourly rate with overtime opportunities. Company van and tools provided. Comprehensive training on REP-TEC machines to support skill development, ensuring self-sufficiency while benefiting from a structured support network and ongoing professional growth. A dynamic and supportive work environment within an industry-leading company. Opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including assembly, refurbishment, servicing, and customer support. Opportunities for progression and career development within a growing company.
If you are a skilled engineer with a strong background in mechanical repairs and hydraulics and want to work for a company that values quality and innovation, we would love to hear from you!
