Casual Museum and Visitor Services Assistants

We are looking for two outgoing and approachable individuals to join our team at Newport Museum and Art Gallery. You will join the Museums front of house team, welcome Museum, Art Gallery and Library visitors, act as the first port of call for enquiries and help to engage visitors with our displays and city-wide offer. You will play an important part in providing an enjoyable visitor experience while ensuring that public spaces remain a safe and secure environment for all and the collections on display. You should be passionate about local history and culture and be keen to share this to inform and inspire our visitors.



We want candidates who can communicate effectively and confidently with a variety of audiences and ages with enthusiasm, patience and resourcefulness. You will have experience of working with the public in a comparable environment.

This is a casual position with zero contracted hours. As part of a pool of casual staff you will be asked to cover for absences within our front of house team and to support events across the Museums & Heritage service. Flexibility is essential as this will include weekend and on occasion evening work.
